Why couldn't she play dirty like the rest of her family did? She just had to be the odd one out. The rose that was surrounded by dandelions. If she were like the rest of her family, she would have just summoned Quinn's wand to her, rather than zoom around on what seemed to be a pointless flight. It was quite simple though, she did not agree to cheating in the least. It was rather hard to imagine how Cori managed to turn out the way she did when surrounded by her family of pure evil, but that was a different story.
After silently cursing herself a few times for wishing she could cheat, she continued her search. Truth be told, she did not know exactly what Quinn's wand looked like. This gave Lycoris a serious disadvantage. Whenever the two ended up together in one room, when not in class at least, things normally depended on who could get their wand out fast enough to blast the other person away, or of course who could just annoy the other one the fastest with their snide remarks. They were equal in some ways when you thought about it long enough. Lycoris had the intelligence for pulling off a quick spell, while Quinn had a quick brain when it came to comments. If they ever worked together they would probably make an awesome team. As if that would ever happen though.
Lycoris glanced sideways for a moment, and watched as Quinn continued his own search for the wand. His wand. A smirk crossed Cori's face when she remembered the look on Quinn's face at the realization of the wand being gone. It was rather amusing. However, her amusement did not last long as she remembered just how bad the situation was. They were in two separate locations, if Quinn foudn the wand first she would not hear the spell he shot off, and therefore not have a chance to block it. This did not please Lycoris. Were this a sanctioned duel under supervision of the professors she was sure that such a disadvantage would not occur. The professors tried to keep a duel as fair as possible.
Her search continued, not even paying half as much attention to Quinn as she probably should have been. If she had been paying more attention she would have noticed the change in his position. That normally meant that something was about to happen. However, since she was not paying attention she did not catch this change, and therefore missed all together the fact that he had indeed found his wand once more. What she did notice however, was the quick change in position, and then moments later she was clear in the air. What did she just miss?
One moment, a broom was under her supporting her flight. The next second, the broom was gone. After this realization hit her, Cori tried to move her body so that the impending impact of the ground would not hurt nearly as much. A scream also escaped her lips, much to her dismay. Tucking her head under her arms, so as to come out with a broken arm rather neck, she waited for the impact. When it did come the wind was knocked out of her body. That couldn't be helped, she wasn't as close to the ground as she could have been, and speed would do that to you. With a huff and several rolls on the ground Lycoris finally came to a stop. She felt quite dizzy, trying to count exactly how many times she had rolled.
Counting was useless though. She still couldn't tell up from down, and really, if she was even fully stopped or not. Using her one arm Lycoris pushed her body over to be lying on her back. Once arm arms were free of their position she felt a twinge of pain in her right arm. Not good. She was right handed. Her wand hand was her right hand. Quinn may have actually won this battle just because of that. Chancing the opening of her eyes to assess the damage to her arm she felt even more dizzy. Sure, the sun wasn't as bright as it was in summertime, but it sure was bright when one was very dizzy and on their back. With her left arm she moved to rub her eyes, to try to assist in the clearing of her dizzyness. Once that was done she began to prop herself up with the same arm, so she could get a better look at her right arm. As she did so she caught sight of a pair of feet right beside her. Good thing her rolling ceased when it did, otherwise that person would have been in quite a bit of pain at this point as well. Her eyes followed the body up, and she noticed that this was not just any person, but a member of the staff at Hogwarts.
((you managed to set that up so nicely for me. Now to just wait around for Ringer to pop on....detentions all around!))

&.Just out, walking, the new gamekeeper glanced up and flased with concern and some minor anger. The only reason the man was sent into such a sudden expression was because he saw some rather bright alternating lights come form the pitch. And here in Hogwarts, flashing lights didn't mean fireworks, it meant spells were being cast. Syloh willed it to be from a planned battle not just some fooling from students.
He quickened his paced, just shy of a full out run. He didn't want to get their late and miss what was happening nor did we want to be out of breath when he got here. The man was now at the entrance to the pitch, the lights had stopped. Carefully Syloh entered. He slipped his wand from his sleeve to his palm, just in case thing got out of hand.
Unfortunately, to his anger, the ones shooting spells were students and upperclassmen at that. Things just could get any worst. He now would have two teens accompanying him on a midnight trip. Stepping onto more of the field, Syloh watched they fly around. Once his gaze landed on the girl was when it happened. She fell. It was all at once that the man had literally no time to react. But he gawked in disbelief at the other student, the guy one. Something seriously was wrong.
Swiftly, the gamekeeper ran over to the girl. Stopping really close next to her, he frowned. Even from his position he could see that something wasn't right with her right arm. In fact, the sight caused him to sigh and his anger to grow. Student, of any age should know not to sling spells at each other without staff safety or control. It was solely for this reason. The staff didn't want the students to get any serious injuries. Sometimes, spells would back fire and cause pain to both the caster and the receiver. Nothing good rarely came from that.
Syloh frowned and flicked his eyes up, way up, to the boy still hovering around. "Hey, you!! Why don't you get your butt back on this ground before I think about having you expelled?" The man slid his wand back into his sleeve but was ready to whip it back out if the student caused any more trouble. But his, now cold and sharpened, eyes never left the flying boy. He grunted as he folded his arms over his chest. "And I mean that now." The gamekeeper exhaled loudly and clearly ticked. He wasn't going to take any crap.
He quickly glanced to the girl on the ground now looking at him. He was too pissed to let a smile filter to his features. He was stuck in his mind that no one, not one! would get sympathy. He rolled his stare back to the boy. And his thoughts lingered, but he still remained with a fierce expression. Sure the girl had just fallen, but from the amount of lights flashing, Syloh doubted that they could have been made from just one student. There could have been more then just these two involved but his true conclusion was going to have to wait till he heard both sides. But his eyes still glared with frustration and annoyance.

MR. Q. B. GREY___________
A growl escaped through his clenched teeth as he twisted, the grimace of pain masked across his features telling exactly what that had cost him to pull off – something was definitely broken or torn within that joint now, perhaps the clavicle judging by the sheer volumes of hurt that was being portioned out to the Slytherin (whether he deserved it or not). He couldn’t even enjoy Lycoris’ now less than graceful flight without her broom beneath her; although it did go some way to keeping him on his own broom rather than relinquishing his grip upon the handle (however, it did seem more like luck and habit that he too wasn’t face-down in the grass below.
Straightening up slightly, holding his left arm close to his chest to prevent further damage and limit movement to the limb, he swapped to holding the broom with his right hand – sufficiently satisfied the Lycoris was out of the battle for at least a couple of minutes as he observed her tenderly flexing her own limb, it not escaping him that her wand was beside her rather than in her uninjured hand in clear sign that more luck had been on his side. A smirk attempted to break through the still smarting expression that he wore as he observed the Ravenclaw from the height that he circled slowly at.
His eyes jumped to a hurriedly approaching figure, who seemed transfixed with Lycoris for the time being at least. But he could easily tell that it was a teacher, or at least an adult rather than a student, who was rushing over. Quinn’s instinct was for self-preservation at that point, hastily turning his broom and attempting to make the cover of the edge of the pitches – but too late. A shout raised up around the stadium, clearly directed at him; the voice of the new gamekeeper though, perhaps the Slytherin had a chance to wheedle his way out of this one. There was no point in running, Lycoris would rat him out at the first chance that she was presented with – no, he would have to play this one as the attacked, as the innocent, as the model student who happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.
So he complied and directed his flight towards the grounded pair, his expression now hosting a facade of neutrality – as if he was trying to hide the fact that he was hurt but not quite managing it, a brave face on the outside of a victim. He touched down lightly and swung off of his broom in fluid motion, eyebrows furrowed in pretend worry, “Is she okay?” he blurted to Syloh, feigning interest as he flicked blue eyes between the Ravenclaw and the Gamekeeper, “Are you okay?” he asked Lycoris herself, extending a hand half way in her direction with a slight wince, wand hand replacing the magical item in the pocket on his thigh. “I didn’t mean for that to happen, I was trying to stop her mid-air so I could get out of here!” He nodded with a frantic urge, playing his part well so far and immediately setting the girl on the defensive.

The pain in her arm made it so the realization of just which professor it was delayed. She knew for a fact that it was broken, no doubts there, and also knew that she was in deep trouble. Quinn would be in just as much trouble as she, but she wondered at that time as well just which card Quinn would play. Would he play the 'I was trying to run away' card, or the 'she started it so I had to defend myself card?' Lycoris could hardly concentrate on what to think at that point because the pain was so fresh. She imagined that Quinn had felt the same way earlier in their battle, when he had ended up on the ground from a much higher height. It didn't matter though, realisations were hitting.
The professor was Syloh Wolfe, the gameskeeper, and currently Lyc was on his good side after their talk in the forest. What would he think now? Would he take back their agreement, or would he stick to it? Cori hoped that he would stick to it, but that would have to be found out later. another twinge of pain crept down her arm, having slightly twitched it during her thoughts, and she cringed. Cori cringed even more when she heard Syloh yell into the air after Quinn. That meant that Quinn had not escaped at all, which meant that they would probably be serving detention together. Probably in hopes of working otu a friendship between the two as well. Like that would happen.
Soon enough, Quinn joined Cori and Syloh on the ground. Both were on their feet, which made Lycoris feel incrediably small. Her eyes followed between Quinn and Syloh for a moment, but quickly returned to Quinn as he feined interest in her well being. As if he cared how she was. He had directed his spell at her broom, purposfully, to have her just in this situation. What he said next, directed at her, Cori just scoffed at, and she ignored the extended hand. As if she would accept his help. He was trying to play innocent! How could he? Then Cori realised that in a way Quinn was innocent, she had, after all, sent the first spell. Maybe she was, at least somewhat, like her family.
Eyes widened at what Quinn had said next. He had tried to stop her and not her broom. Like that was truth! She was a much bigger target than her broom, if he missed her then he should not be on the quidditch team for he should not be able to catch a quaffle, which was much smaller than Lycoris was. "Oh don't play innocent Grey. You hit your mark and you know it." With her left arm Cori pushed herself to her feet, stumbling a little bit as she was hit by another dizzy spell. Once her vision had cleared once more she looked at Syloh "He did not aim for me. If he had he would have hit me and not my broom. Not to mention shooting a spell when I was defensless with my back to him." She shook her head. If Quinn was going to play innocent, she was going to play angelic. Besides, who was more likely to be believed? The Slytherin, or the Ravenclaw?

&.Once Syloh saw the boy lower himself from the skies to the ground, the gamekeeper sent his eyes toward the girl. Studying her for a moment it dawned on him that he had met this student before. What was her name? That's right it was the girl he had made a deal with back in the forest. Lycoris Sunders. Thoughts were sent through his head about the agreement but he pushed them away. Blinking his eyes back toward the other student, Syloh that that it would be best not to bring such an agreement up in front of other students. He wanted to bring care into his eyes once he looked back at Cori and how she was holding her arm but the man kept his eyes cold and locked.
The boy was over by them now. He wasted no time pointing out his view of where he stood in this story. Syloh planted a quiet false smirk on his lips once the student addressed him then returned to his serious expression. The gamekeeper held his watched silently as the boy then faced Lycoris on the ground and reached out a hand for her. It was a nice gesture, but it didn't make Syloh miss the wince that he made. Something was wrong with the boy's arm as well. The man rolled his eyes and thought back to his thought about how students could only injure themselves in unchaperoned fights.
He was about to speak when Lycoris spoke up, so Syloh held his tongue. The man let her share her side of the debate. She was going for greif and a minor form of pity, he could tell. The other student placed himself with innocents and handed her the offensive. Syloh watched as she got up, when she almost fell back down from dizziness, the man was about to support her but she had caught herself and continued. So far, the gamekeeper wasn't going to believe both of them.
He made sure he was positioned in the middle of the two students before he spoke. He needed questioned answered and his first one was toward Grey. Syloh flicked his gaze over to the boy. "If you were trying to get away why didn't you just weave out of the way of the spells and then fly fast enough away to get back inside the school?" He took a short pause, Syloh wasn't done just yet. "Or why didn't you just cast a spell to throw her wand out of her hand then leave toward the school? You seem old enough to have learned that spell already." He raised an eyebrow pressingly. Giving Grey a moment to think his answer over, Syloh then turned to Lycoris and stole a brief glance at her right arm then to her face. "Lycoris, you can't tell me that he was the only one casting spells, now can you?"
Syloh let his arms fall from his chest and he had then hang straight at his sides. It was going to take some hard debating from either of them as to why he shouldn't take them on a trip to the forest for a detention. He grinned to himself them voiced his thoughts again. "And don't think that what ever you say will get you out of a detention." The gamekeeper let the air thicken with silence as he moved his hardened eyes over both of them.

MR. Q. B. GREY___________
And then it was Quinn's turn to act offended at her accusation, folding his arms across his chest in emphatic fashion as if the mere suggestion of anyone doing such a thing sickened him down to his core. He made a noise of contempt, rebutting her comments without a word as he maintained the victim character in the scenario – too aggressive and he would have blown his cover, and no amount of acting would have gotten him out of the mess that they were now in.
Of course, trouble was nothing new to Quinn. He suspected that if it had been any other member of staff then there would have been no discussion and he would have been sentenced without trial, if not through direct prior encounter then through word of mouth and his reputation having proceeded him amongst the ranks of the staff (did they really have nothing better to talk about than work and the students they had scolded that day?). Truth be told, it was a bit of a bitch that there was very little he could get away with, but he did seem to have a knack for leaving no evidence that it had been him involved in whatever mishap of the day it happened to be that was being considered – thus leaving the teachers with no grounds for punishment, even though they knew that he had been involved. It was all down to practice – sure, he’d served his time in detention when he had been caught, but he had always learned from that experience what not to do the next time. But luck was on his side for the time being, this new Gamekeeper not knowing him by appearances (or it seemed name as Lycoris had mentioned his surname in her spat reply – though perhaps Grey wasn’t so obvious a name as Quinn, the jig might have been up in that case).
The man quizzed him then on his motives, the Slytherin’s natural cunning instinct kicking his brain into overdrive to think of the perfect response without to noticeable a pause. “Didn’t have that option,” he replied, an acted edge of fluster in his voice as he added, “sir.” He furrowed his eyebrows and shrugged his shoulders, “Played against her in matches, and she’s fast. Don’t reckon I’d have been able to outrun her if I’m honest,” he lied, his facade slipping an inch or two as he couldn’t help but glance to see Lycoris’ response to that – even if he had been lying, he would have put money on her repeating it later out of context and as a serious statement. To the follow-up question he chimed back with precision, “It’s not that I didn’t try that, sir. She dodged and I panicked. It all happened so fast...”
He looked down at his broom then, acting every part the innocent as he seemingly absently dug his nail at a tiny splinter of wood on the shaft of his broom handle – the imperfection appearing to be a source of distraction from the embarrassment that he “felt”.
Ah balls... Quinn thought to himself without falter in his expression as the dreaded “d” word was casually thrown into the conversation – it seemed that his fate had been predefined. But he bit his tongue, he wouldn’t make things worse for himself than for Lycoris; that would come during the punishment (which he assumed would have them playing all nicey-nicey together so that they learned to get along... or, Quinn liked to think, simply for the teacher’s sadistic amusement).

Lycoris watched the look on Syloh's face when recognition hit as to who she was. She counted her blessings when he did not say anything about their deal right off the bat, but then wondered if he would send Quinn away first and hold her back to cancel the deal they had made. She let a soft sigh escape her lips, barely audible to the others around her. Next, Syloh began to interrigate Quinn. His questions were perfect, Quinn could not possibly back up what he was trying to do now. After all, he wasn't innocent in this case either. Again though, Lycoris thought at how she had actually been the one to start this particular death match. She had let Quinn get under her skin and just couldn't hold back for him to send the first bolt. She cast her eyes down to the ground, waiting to see what Quinn would say in response.
Cori listened to Quinn's reply to Syloh's questions. He didn't have the option? Pfft. If he had moved to get away she would have let him, granted the next time they would meet in the hallways she would probably not be able to resist calling him a 'chicken' for doing so. His next statement though, shocked Cori back to complete reality. Her eyes were wide with shock at what he had said. So, theres the admittance that she was faster, maybe they would have to test that out someday, just to see for sure. For now though, she listened as Quinn played all innocent. At Syloh's question about the disarming Cori laughed. He had tried to disarm her, but she had already disarmed him, so that wasn't a full lie, it was partial truth. She resisted bluting out that fact right there, fearing that it would only make things worse for her in the long run.
Next thing Cori knew, Syloh had turned his attention to her, saying, not asking, that she had shot spells of her own. She gave a small shrug out of habit, and cringed, remembering about her arm. "I cannot say that I wasn't shooting spells." she said, playing the honest card. "However, my spells were in defence. I didn't want to see Quinn fall to the ground, only to become a pancake, so I made sure to use defensive spells so that hopefully i could get him distracted enough to leave the pitch again." The last part Cori had said without thinking, and half cursed herself immediatly. She had been able to suscessfully distracted Quinn when he had 'lost' his wand, but instead of leave she had tried to find it herself. She thought about that though, making sure that she had something to say when Quinn scoffed at her for te lie, maybe she could say that she had tried to find the wand herself so that Quinn would not have been able to shoot a spell at her while she retreated....that was the partial truth anyways.
After Cori had spoken her defence she heard Syloh mention the detention card. She was quite surprised that the response did not come immidiatly, but then she remembered that Syloh was still new at this, and that he wasn't one to just give out a detention right away, thank goodness for that, otherwise Cori may be in the big black book of names to give detentions to right off. She smiled a little, thinking about how they had spoken about color coding the different lists of students that syloh would encounter during his years at Hogwarts. Still priceless. Her mind wandered to the possibilities that Syloh would give for detention. He knew quite well that she was not afraid of the forest, however, add Quinn into the mix and she would bet that they would have to maybe go feed some random creature its dinner or something along those lines. She shook her head a small bit, wondering what the punishment would be.

&.The gamekeeper stood between the two students and folded his arms across his chest again. They, if they still had anger toward the other, were keeping there composure quite well. He had to be a good mediator in this argument, it probably would help him make later decisions with his job. Decisions. Syloh thought back to the deal. Lucky for the girl he wasn't going to go back on his word. But, maybe if she ever had a couple more mishaps like this the man would start to reconsider the agreement. Flicking his gaze from the boy to the girl, Syloh sighed and kept a mild expression.
He adjusted his position to be slightly inclined toward the boy. He still could see Lycoris, but in the sides of his eyes. The man gazed as the students explained himself. Syloh asked some impending questions but the boy never gave a hesitant answer. Which stuck the gamekeeper as odd but it seemed a little too, well, too clean. You would think that if someone was innocent they would be shocked at the accusations, but still be kind of calm and have hints of delayed replies. Now, Syloh wasn't thinking that the boy was lying, he still wasn't absolutely sure who started the whole issue. Inhaling deeply, the man contemplated what to say. "Well, contrary to your explanation, I can't count you out of the detention sentence." One reason why he couldn't was that he saw with his owns eyes that the boy shot a spell out at the Ravenclaw girl. "As you probably know, I witnessed you cast a spell." He gave a quick mischievous smirk then let it fade. "I do have to ask you one more thing. What's your name lad?"
Now it was Lycoris' turn. Syloh shifted to face her, keeping n eye on the boy as he did so. He was glad that she was honest to the fact that she had shot off some spells. But it kind of just made him think. He listened intently to her other comment and nothing else shocked him until her last word. Again? Well, that was something to be noted. The gamekeeper paused then replied, "I'm guessing that you know that a detention is the only punishment, I could try to make it less harsh since you admitted but the punishments have to be fair." He nodded and shifted his eyes to both of their ingured arms, something was going to have to be done about that.
Syloh cleared his head once he reached a conclusion to the sentence of their 'crimes'. He exhaled softly and looked both of them in the eyes. "First, there must be something done fix your injuries, so I am sending you too see the nurse." He paused and let it sink in. The man also thought to himself that he would probably need to escourt the two to the hospital wing just to make sure they followed his rules. He opened his mouth again to explain their detention. "Then, you two will meet me at my hut and we will be taking a trip into the forest in which both of you," He pointed and continued, "will have to work together. Understood?" Syloh knew they wouldn't like the idea but they needed to get passed their feud.

MR. Q. B. GREY___________
“Pah, puh-leaze...” he scoffed at Lycoris as she played the holier-than-thou card – admitting that she had been firing spells but pleading diminished responsibility? It was the oldest trick in the book for when you were backed into a corner without a cleverer means of escape, something which you had to be pretty desperate (or entirely too innocent and naive to be in such trouble in the first place) to pull out of your bag of responses. The comment however was intoned harshly, perhaps too much so for the goodie-two-shoes character that he had previously been playing up so well – so small a slip may have given his game away entirely; he could always hope that it had been too under his breath for the expression to have been noted or the phrase noticed at all. He hoped to rectify the situation by picking up on one of the points that she had raised, reverting back to all blonde hair and blue eyes, “Defence? So that’s how I ploughed headfirst into the pitch,” He really would have looked cherubic if not for the glint of malice that flashed in the corners of his eyes on occasion... not to mention the sarcasm.
“I was here first an’ all. Just minding my own business when she comes waltzing in, shooting off disarming spells and a whole load of crap...” For added effect, he angrily motioned towards her, moving his arm in such a way that the bones in his shoulder connected painfully with one another – the motion casual and unintentional looking – wincing as he did so, showing his straight, white teeth gritted together against the tenderness of the joint. The anger was mock however, adding another layer onto the carefully crafted defence that he was working – whilst the cause of whether or not he would have to serve detention or not seemed lost (this thought punctuated by confirmation from the Gamekeeper that that was indeed the case), he was still angling for a reduction in his sentence while finding the maximum possible penalty for the Ravenclaw.
His name. Quinn thought quickly; there was no way he could lie, it would simply look bad as he knew that Lycoris would out him straight away, but perhaps he could phrase things in such a way that the significance of his title would be lost. “Quinn Bernard Grey.” he replied with a hint of a question for show, as if unaccustomed to the usual formalities of punishment, emphasis placed upon his middle name as if it was of more importance than his first – perhaps pertaining to a famous relation by the name of Bernard, or a certain lineage within which the name was common and to whom it was common to show respect. Of course, he was just diverting the Gamekeeper from putting “Quinn” next to “Grey” and coming up with a notorious troublemaker (of whom it was very unlikely that he hadn’t been forewarned).
“What’s gonna happen to us?” he enquired, his tone lingering somewhere between the characters of his own nature and the fictional innocent of the scene. Quinn was no stranger to the forest, it was a good place to avoid the unwanted eyes of teachers upon you when some illicit activity was being planned or put into motion, or simply for the purposes of consuming contraband firewhiskey (thestrals knew how many empty bottles were stashed under tree roots and inside hollow logs after consumption by Quinn and his allies).

Lycoris's eyes widened as Quinn spoke. So he was going to play that game huh? Clearly he had forgotten just how many taunts that he had thrown her way before the first spell was cast. Not to mention the fact that he had let go of his broom while confused. How could Lycoris be held responsible for his stupidity? It didn't matter that she had been the one to confuse him. After all, she wouldn't have needed to if he hadn't held a grudge against her for something that wasn't her fault.
"I disarmed you for my own protection!" Lycoris responded. She would have taken a step forward if Syloh had not been between the two. Good idea in theory, but would he be able to hold off from Quinn and Lycoris going at it again? All he was doing was taunting her more, probably wanting her to shoot off more spells infront of Syloh. He was trying to make her seem more guilty than he was! "If someone could let go of the fact that bludgers are not under the students control, then none of this would have happened! Why don't you just man up and realise that you weren't paying attention and flew into the trajectory of the bludgers." True, arguing with Quinn was not going to help her case at all, it may make it worse int he long run, but Syloh should probably understand that little bit of information.
She shook her head, frustrated and angry. Lycoris did not believe that Quinn would be able to win Syloh over, Syloh had, after all, seemed much like herself when they had spoken in the forest. He probably had to deal with similar situations while he was in school. Or at least, she could hope so. She turned her attention to Syloh when he spoke to her. "I would gladly serve double detention if it meant that I wouldn't have to see him." She motioned with her head to indicate Quinn, though he probably would have figured that out anyways. The thought of Syloh trying to lessen her sentance for being honest hadn't even crossed her mind before he mentioned it, but she once again spoke the truth. She would gladly serve double, or even triple, the detention if it meant not having to serve it with Quinn. Lycoris wondered at that point exactly what Syloh had in mind for them.
At the mention of Syloh sending them to see the nurse first she cringed. That was one place that Lycoris had esentially avoided in her six years at the school. You know, maybe she had gone there once or twice to get a potion so that she wouldn't be sick, but that was the extent of it. Up until now Lycoris hadn't even broken any bones in her life, gained a few scars yes, but taht was about it, nothing too serious. She sighed, thinking about her 'ruined record' now that she had a broken bone. She made a face at Quinn as he continued to try and play the innocent card. As if he didn't know what would happen to them. That was probably just another ploy to try and get his sentance smaller.
((sorry if its crappy guys, still a little muse deprived, should be better in a few days))

&.Once the boy had shot off a please in a sarcastic and sneering way, Syloh knew there was going to be s debate, which would probably land then in more trouble. Again the gamekeeper waited so that he could take in both sides then give a pending answer.
Apparently, the Slytherian boy was out on his own, innocent and all. The man inhaled and exhaled loudly as he adjusted his stance to hear Cori better. Her story was harder put, more like accusing but it explained the minority of what happened. Putting his hands up slightly and facing one of them toward each student Syloh spoke, loudly and calmly. "Cool it both of you or you will double the time you spend together." He was referring the the detention of course. The pair defiantly had a quarrel that was in desperate need of repair, but there was a chance that it was already beyond that.
At the sound of the boys name, the gamekeeper's head perked up and a smirk arose to his features. "So you are the student I have been warned about, huh?" The man raise an eyebrow at him then there a frown planted on his face. "You don't seem as deadly as they all described. Sad thing too, I was up for the challenge, but apparently they must have mixed up who they were talking about." Syloh shrugged it off and smiled inwardly. He knew that this Quinn was the very same Quinn that all the other staff talked about. The man's words were stated to help mark down the boy's ego, which he was also told about.
He shook his head at Lycoris. "No can do. You two have some issues that need be worked out." He shifted his eyes to Quinn and offered a mindless shrug. "Haven't picked one yet. I was thinking you both could clean my hut but that was too easy. But possibly you two could investigate the recent killing spree of the centaurs with me. Hope you two aren't squeamish at dead bodies." The gamekeeper had been joking with the cleaning his hut detention, he wasn't that new too being a teach. No, he knew that punishments were meant to be hard and have some sort of effect on the people that got them.
Syloh then cast his gaze toward the school then back at the students and stood a step behind them and shooed his hands at their backs. He spoke in a stern voice and cool stare. "Go on now. Hospital Wing, you two. Now." He watched and made sure they followed his orders.
Syloh Montgomery Wolfe <<okay that detention was something i made up on the spot....quite weird i must admit but it was all i could think of. Plus Since we need more evil might as well have something going on a killing spree in the forest, yes?? lol>>

MR. Q. B. GREY___________
Quinn folded his arms across his chest – overly carefully this time, demonstrating to the gamekeeper just how painful his injury was and hoping to gain a little of the sympathy vote on its account – and scoffed loudly at the Ravenclaw’s throw-back, rolling his eyes for added effect. “You know that that’s not what it’s all about. I don’t doubt your magical abilities – no way you could keep up the game and the extended kinetic spell at the same time, pft.” he looked her up and down with scorn, judging her and deeming her clearly unworthy, “It’s your other tactics, like when...” but he was cut across by the Gamekeeper then, not pursuing the subject further for the time being out of his need to continue to work his sentence down. He looked to the member of staff with a look which may have been in apology – although if it had been, the attempt was poor and clearly had no sincerity behind it.
He couldn’t help but notice and despair at the smirk that occurred to the Gamekeeper’s face as he had registered the Slytherin’s name. In a way, Quinn was happy that his reputation had preceded him – it was a mark of some achievement for him that the staff had deemed it necessary to inform their new colleague of the Sixth year and his forays into the illegal. But he kept this positive reaction internalised, to serve his purposes he would need to look more cowed than proud of this fact. “I guess so.” he replied with toneless voice, wanting to know what impact this information had really had on the man. As the insult was thrown his way, Quinn set his jaw more firmly – deadly? He wondered which of his exploits had merited such a description... although there was that one time with the potion made from stolen manticore venom made to look like an intelligence boost... The Slytherin frowned as the teacher badmouthed him, wanting to retaliate but realising that Syloh was trying to get a rise out of him so biting his tongue – for the time being at least.
"I would gladly serve double detention if it meant that I wouldn't have to see him."
“Alright, tell you what. You do mine on top of yours; then you get double and don’t have to see me. Yes?” he spoke directly to Syloh then, “Sounds like a good plan to me, can’t see anything wrong with it.../color]” But his suggestion was shot down by the Gamekeepers reasoning that the pair of students should be “working out their issues”. A sneer came to the Slytherin’s lips, top lip arching upwards at one side to reveal his teeth. There was no way that he was going to be getting out of this, or even have the victory over Lycoris in having a shorter sentence – Syloh was far too diplomatic for anything of the sort to work. Quinn raised an eyebrow as the Gamekeeper detailed his ideas for their detention – frankly, the Slytherin would rather have gone into the forest than have to do some menial cleaning job; even if the task in the forest was to hunt for something lethal that had somehow found its way there, Quinn’s ego provided him with the feeling that he would be able to handle himself just fine.
Hoisting his broom over his shoulder with his unaffected arm, Quinn threw the Ravenclaw a dirty look that one usually afforded for something found on the bottom of one’s shoe. But he didn’t move, holding his position until Lycoris, or at least Syloh, made their move towards the castle first. As Syloh’s hand neared his back, he braced himself against the push that he expected, intent at having this victory over his year-mate if nothing else.

Ew, double the time together. That was not at all appealing to Lycoris, having to do detention with him was bad enough, though she could not say that she didn't expect it. Her eyes turned back to Quinn as he spoke once more. However, she reisted biting his head off for fear of getting double detention with him. Lycoris was going to have to keep herself in check so that didn't happen. Instead, when Syloh looked away from her she resorted to giving Quinn one of the dirtiest looks she had ever given.
She listened to Syloh as he mentioned that Quinn was the one that he had been warned about. A satisfied smile crossed her face then, understanding how bad Quinn's reputation was. For the first time that day Lycoris was quite glad that she was not like the rest of her family, that she was the good girl. While she had had many detentions in the past, it was for things like going into the Forbidden forest, and that wasn't exactly something that the staff talked about too much, that she knew of at least. At Syloh's comment about Qunn being less deadly than the staff had described Cori stiffled a laugh. So Syloh was now clued in on the game that Quinn was playing, things were working out in her favor after all.
After that syloh turned his attention back to herself. Before that though, Quinn spoke. He thought that she should serve her time as well as his? Ya right! before she had a chance to say anything back to Quinn Syloh spoke again. If he had been looking away Cori would have given Quinn another dirty look. However, that was not possible unless she wanted Syloh to see it. The fury began to build up once more, and she wondered how bad their next unsupervised time together would be. How fast would she crack sort of thing. Then the description of the detention came. She listened quietly as Syloh suggested what he thought was suitable punishment for them.
Killing sprees in the forest huh? Good thing she hadn't been back in a few days then. Her brain then absorbed the last statement Syloh had spoken. squeemish about dead bodies? She couldn't help it, a laugh escaped her lips at that. "Squeemish, thats a good one. How mutalted are these ones?" She was not a huge fan of seeing dead bodies, who was? But she would not show fear infront of Quinn. Last thing she needed is for him to take a slight bit of disgust and turn it into her being squeemish and afraid.
After that Syloh demanded that they go to the Hospital Wing. He moved behind the two, obviously about to escort them without letting the two leave his sight. Lycoris turned her attention to Quinn standing beside her, obviously trying to be the last one to move. She, however, did not care about that battle. It was either move willingly, or be pushed. She did not want to appear too stubborn to Syloh, that may end up putting her in his bad books, and that would not be very good. With a small sigh she began to move. "guess its worth getting this fixed as quickly as possible then...so not worth the pain." she bit her cheek a little bit after she spoke, her arm having twitched as she spoke.
((sorry its lame guys, had no idea how to reply to the posts, lol))

&.The game keeper was glad that the Slytherian boy held his tongue were he did, otherwise Syloh was going to probably stop a brawl. Flicking his eyes from Lycoris and Quinn, he made note of the girl’s seemingly calm face (even if it was he knew she was hiding a remark) and the boy’s semi apologic smile. The man smiled an actual smile and nodded softly. “Thank you…” It wasn’t mean to be quiet but that was how it came out. He was just relived that the conversation hadn’t gotten out of control. Now that both students were silent and under control, Syloh took a deep breath to calm himself. Being a moderator could be more stressful then it looked. Well, it was something that one would go through with the occupation of a teacher, always settling the fights between quarreling kids.
When the fact came back to the explanation as to Quinn’s reputation, he watched as the boy also held back any retorts that had come to his mind when Syloh spoke. A nonchalant grin crept to his features and the gamekeeper cleared his throat. “Well, right then.” Spinning gingerly on his heels the man faced the Ravenclaw ready to address her next. Sadly, the boy beat him to talking. Syloh looked at Lycoris and rolled his eyes at Grey’s comment, glad that his back was to him. After that done he noticed that she was holding back something, granted it was small whatever it was, but he was glad she didn’t show it. Ya know, just in case it started another fight and all.
Chuckling, Syloh smirked and looked off into the distance to recall the image of the mauled bodies. “First, cut open, guts spilled out and everything, chopped up into several pieces, skin ripped off, and blood drenched. Even after picturing that you’re still no where close to imaging what the carcasses look like.” Shifting his eyes from there spot back to look at the girl’s expression. His grin only widened as he though of what else to mention. Turning his head to glance at Quinn, he added, for both to hear, “The smell his worse. A thick swear, sweat and rust scent, it is.”
He watched Lycoris spoke and started walking first, made him glad that he would have one less person to wait on as he stood there. He moved his hands to be folded over his chest. Syloh’s gaze flashed to the Slytherian, who seemed to be in a pose to start walking, but he didn’t move. He cleared his throat loud enough to be a partially rude gesture. Straightening his posture, the gamekeeper could stand there all day, he didn’t have anymore classes to teach and the weather wasn’t a total bust. “Don’t expect me to move before you do.” Even after his early comments about the boy’s reputation, with him not being a challenge and all, Syloh was going to keep a close eye on him.

MR. Q. B. GREY___________
Quinn made a face of malcontent at the Gamekeeper’s acceptance of his false apology, rolling his eyes a little and averting his attention from the little gathering, staring aimlessly across the pitch as if the conversation was the last thing on his mind. Of course, the exact opposite happened to be true, his ears primed to pick up on those small inflections of tone and shifts in body position that gave away what a person was feeling even more so than their expression did – whilst many people had the wit about them to control their expression, those clues which languished within a person’s subconscious actions and words were often overlooked as important in making a lie convincing. Quinn, however, was wise to this, knowing what it took to make a lie believable, hell, he’d told enough of them to be well versed in such an art – if there had been a class on lying, the Slytherin would have scored top marks. He didn’t like this Gamekeeper, the old one had been slow and easy to outwit, Syloh it seemed would prove more of a challenge to hoodwink. He turned his gaze slightly, the staff member now in the periphery of his vision, and barely acknowledged the man as he spoke again, offering only a quiet grunt as his reply to this.
His ears perked up again and he couldn’t help but turn his look back towards Syloh as he detailed exactly what had been happening in the forest. A look of revulsion etched its way across Quinn’s features; it wasn’t a look that portrayed fear as such – that would have come had it been something he had personally witnessed, or something that even though the cause was known was all the more terrible for it. He knew that the forest held some hideous monsters that fathomed the imagination, but they didn’t worry him so long as they kept themselves to themselves and out with the confines of the areas that he personally visited. But to willingly venture in looking for them didn’t seem like something a sane person would do – perhaps there was more to this Syloh than there appeared – and the shadow of doubt was cast across his mind, though he maintained a neutral expression in the face of his adversaries. Lycoris’ flippant remarks served only to disgust him further however, immoral as he could be, he couldn’t be as completely heartless as the Ravenclaw had just sounded. And Syloh’s description made it all worse, Quinn’s imagination getting the better of him as he extrapolated mental images from the man’s words. He choked back a complaint about the sentence, not wanting to appear weak in front of either party.
As Lycoris moved off, a small smirk came to his features however, counting it as a small but significant victory – her “rising above” his baiting giving Quinn the impression that she had indeed been injured in a worse way than he had been. Syloh however was proving a problem, stubborn as the Sixth year might have been, he doubted whether he would be able to put off moving for longer than the Gamekeeper would (the throbbing in his arm now more apparent to him after thinking about the injury that Lycoris had sustained). The Slytherin sneered at the member of staff again, knowing that there would be little worse that could be thrown at him now that the outline for the detention had been lain down, before stalking off after Lycoris with a haughty disdain about his air.
