THE PERSONALITY ,[/font][/blockquote]
[/blockquote][/blockquote]
- Personable – Lance gets along with almost everyone he encounters, friendly to the last.
- Accommodating – intuitive to what different people need and able to provide that.
- Easy-going – it’s difficult to get him riled up, he’ll give you the benefit of the doubt and dismiss that which you have implied as a simple error.
- Loyal – he becomes close to people easily and gets protective of them quickly; he’ll stick up for you when you need it.
- Witty – he has a fast mind for jokes, and it’s rare to see him without a clever retort.
- No pushover – he does have his limits, cross those lines too many times and he’s liable to snap and give you as good as he’s given.
- Trusting – he likes to think the best of people, and for the most part it’s not too hard to gain his trust.
- Flirty – although recently his confidence has taken a knock, his natural charisma (and only encouraged by his lilting accent) leading him to many encounters with the fairer sex.
- Vain – only his close friends get away with laughing at him, anyone else will earn his contempt and place him squarely in a bad mood.
- Self depreciating – although only privately so, Lance can end up focusing on his flaws entirely too much – most usually leading to drinking, a lot of drinking.
- Indecisive – if there’s anyone else to be relied upon to make the decisions, he’s happy to take a back seat.
Obsessive – if Lance finds something that he likes, he’ll make sure that everyone knows about it.- Lazy – despite being an athlete, Lance loves his bed and is capable of wasting a lot of time doing absolutely nothing.
- Procrastinator – if there’s something that he doesn’t want to do, even the smallest of distractions can lead him to waste hours and hours before getting around to it.
- Private – as much as he is friendly and all, Lance keeps his private life to himself (clearly for good reason nowadays).

HISTORY:Lancelot was born in Dublin to a mother and father who met through university – his mother, Isabelle, an archaeology professor; his father, Conall, the curator of the university’s museum - with his twin sister, Morrigan, was born two hours later. Traditional names in vogue led to the seemingly odd choices in the appointment of their Christian names, their older brothers, Dairmaid and Eoghan (3 at the time), managing to escape such bestowals.
Lance was a happy youngster, always laughing and smiling. He grew up best friends with his sister, the pair sharing everything from toys to diseases, and in utter awe of his older brothers, his eyes never leaving them before he could walk and wanting to join in with their games as soon as he could. Disagreements did of course ensue, as they are want to do amongst siblings all vying for parental attention and to make sure that they got whatever it was that they wanted. When Lance was 3, Dairmaid’s magic first showed and, despite all friendliness between the brothers, was taken out upon his younger sibling – Lance finding himself unable to produce any noise until the next morning, his tongue and vocal cords unresponsive. Conall and Isabelle thought nothing of this, magic simply a fairytale to them, perhaps just a joke or tantrum on their youngest son’s part, Dairmaid conceding with this explanation – unable to see any other reason why. Dairmaid, out of Lance’s siblings, was the only other to show magical capability – though the occurrences caused by the pair usually put down to mere accident, coincidences or otherwise explained away.
At age 6, Lance began to show his own talents – gaining revenge upon Dairmaid by banishing him to the roof of their two-storey house and leaving him there for a couple of hours before deeming it necessary to inform his parents – feigning innocence when questioned (despite the protests of 9 year old Dair), confused though knowing that it had been his fault after his brother had thrown his frizbee up there.
When it was time for Dair to go to high school, the family were visited by a messenger of the school to explain everything about the world of magic and wizardry, and to offer Dairmaid a place at Hogwarts (Eoghan, although clearly jealous was quickly brought around with promises of presents and pictures and visits and as much involvement as could feasibly be allowed). Enquiries were also made after the other children and any abilities which might have been shown, Lance ratted out by Dair before he had the chance to offer himself forwards. Throughout the following years before attending school, Lance was visited several more times by the messenger for checkups and to see if the other children showed any magical gifts at all – though they were informed that it was most unlikely at such late age.
Starting school, Lance was sorted into Gryffindor – and enjoyed the coincidence that came from implications of his name and the fact that Gryffindors are painted as “the brave”. His first year passed fairly unremarkably: his grades for the most part averaged out, he gained several friends of varying levels of importance, none-too-notable trouble. He did however find a love of flying and quickly became very passionate about it – knowing that his brother, a fourth year at this point, had just been appointed to the House team of Gryffindor. In third year, he tried out for the Quidditch team himself and was taken on as a Chaser – the team finishing 2nd in the Cup that year.
At age 16, he was signed for the reserves of the Kenmare Kestrels – playing with them on weekends – with a further call up to the team upon his graduation, at 17, the next year (although his set of OWLs and NEWTs would have set him up nicely to continue onto further education, his heart lay with the sport and he knew he wouldn’t be as happy in any other job). For the next two years, he was a popular substitute to fill in for injured players, earning himself a full-time role on the main team at age 19. For the next 3 years, he played happily with the team, before being offered a position at Montrose Magpies – with whom he played for the following 3 years.
However, at age 26, he was subjected to brutal attack by a Werewolf – apparently Muggleborns shouldn’t be allowed to be top flight athletes and should be treated like the scum that they were (according to the message sent with the Were) - but before he could be bitten and afflicted with the curse he gained enough of a gap to apparate to freedom. He had suspected that something was amiss in the team, a new manager having been installed and consequently Lance’s position being given to a newcomer, despite the fact that his blood hadn't been tainted. It was publicised on his behalf that he would be leaving the club due to “personal reasons”, though there were strong hints and leaking “information” that it was due to illicit activities and excessive alcohol consumption. Ironically, this is what his dismissal led to – Lance holing himself up and drinking himself through the day: not being seen for months and removing himself from everyone.
Eventually found by his siblings combined force, though in dire need of some medical attention (down to his skin and bones, covered in scratches and bites as well as a significant amount of blood) Dair convinced him to seek help from St Mungo’s. After getting fixed up, many a long night was spent discussing tactics for what he could do next, his name disgraced in the Quidditch world and no other job to fall back on. His brother suggested Hogwarts, read up on history as he was, for the fact that past headmasters had been sympathetic maybe he would find something suitable there – or failing that a suggestion for where else he may try. To his great excitement, he found that a new Flying instructor was required and, working up the courage to tell truthfully his situation, applied.
