Class, quidditch, potions, spells, plants. What she wouldn't give to just have a break from it all. Lycoris was a bright student, but sometimes she just needed time to just sit and think, try to sort everything out in her mind. It was hard to just sit and think in the common room, there were so many students there at all times. Even her dorm room was noisy most of the time.
It was times like this that Lycoris wished she was a muggle. They didn't have to learn half as much as a student at Hogwarts did. At least, in her opinion they didn't. But wouldn't it be nice to just walk away from the school every once in awhile? You know, go home, eat a nice meal with your family, maybe go watch something with your friends?
Her thinking had brought Lycoris to the corridor where the supposed Room of Requirement was. She had never actually been able to 'stumble' across this room just yet. She had heard stories of it though. It sounded quite interesting. What was it she had been told once upon a time about it? Think really hard about what you want and pace up and down until a door appeared? She shrugged, it couldn't hurt to try could it? Lycoris began her tread, thinking about what she needed.

She didn't even know where she was going. Emmy's robes made a slight swishing sound as she hurried down the corridors. Most times, she would actually look where she was going, but the sixth-year Gryffindor girl wasn't acting normally. Something was on her mind, and, unlike other times when things were on her mind, these thoughts made her want to walk. Why she took her Potions book with her could be anyone's guess, but she did.
As she passed through random classroom and other corridors, Emmy caught parts and pieces of the portraits' conversations. Some may have even been comments aimed at her, but she was in too deep of thought. What she really needed was a nice quiet place to think. That was the reason she was walking. It got her away from the chatter of the other Gryffindors in the house common rooms. When she needed to think she needed it to be quiet.
Before she knew it, Emmy crashed into something. No. It was someone. With a soft oof! she fell to the floor, her Potions book sliding away from her. "Oh! I'm sorry! Sorry! I'm so sorry to have hit you like that!" The rain of apologies fell out of Emmy's mouth as she scooped up her book. She hadn't even looked at the person she'd just run into yet. Looking up, another soft 'sorry' came out of her mouth before she could stop it.
Emmy sighed and sort of half-smiled. Looking at the insignia on the other girl's robes, she determined that she was from Ravenclaw. The other girl looked familiar. Emmy thought for a moment, but couldn't figure out why. Her left knee was throbbing where it had hit the ground, and she rubbed it. Instantly the Gryffindor student stood back straight, slightly embarassed that she'd gotten hurt by her own carelessness. "I really hope I didn't hurt you. Are you okay? I'm so sorry." She apologised again.

How long had she been pacing the corridor? Five minutes? An hour? It was quite unknown to Lycoris. All she knew, her thinking had so far come up with nothing in the means of a door to whatever you needed. As that thought crossed her mind, Lyc was a little dismayed. Maybe the room didn't even exist, a story made up by students past to make the current students lok dumb for pacing up and down a corridor for something that would never appear.
On her next pass, Lycoris did not get far. Before she knew it something, well, someone had crashed into her. Lycoris let out a soft ugh and was sent backwards about half a step before landing rather ungracefully on the ground. Probably as soon as it had happened she heard the sound of a girl's voice spewing out apologies, as if it was needed. Lycoris had been so lost in thought she wouldn't have been surprised if the crash had been her fault.
She shook her head, clearing it from the fall, and then her eyes landed on the scarlet and yellow lion signifying Gryffindor house on the black robes of the girl also sprawled on the ground. A small smile appeared on her lips, thankful that it was someone from Gryffindor, and not from Slytherin. Pushing herself back to her feet Lycoris held out a hand to silence the girl, stil gaining back her own composure. "No, no, I'm fine, no harm done. No need to apologise, was probably my fault anyways. stupid lost in thoughtness."
Cori shook her head, cursing her mind and how full of random thoughts it was. if she had been paying even half attention to what was going on around her it probably could have been avoided. But no, she had to be lost in thought, absorbed in her own little world. Letting a slow sigh escape her lips Lycoris calmed herself down. Her eyes ran up and down the girl, trying to come up with a name but not getting to it. Cori had seen this girl before, they were in the same year and had shared classes, but that was the extent of the familiarity. "I'm sorry, I don't think we have ever actually met before. I'm Lycoris."

Emelia stopped speaking when the Ravenclaw girl held out her hand. She'd done it again. Emelia mentally scolded herself for thoughtless apologising. 'Every time!' she thought angrily. She only caught the last of the girl's first comment. "Stupid lost in thoughtness." It made Emmy chuckle. "Tell me about it." she said.
Ah. Lycoris. Emmy remembered that name. They were in the same year, and had a couple of classes together. "I don't believe we have. Nice to meet you, Lycoris. My name is Emelia. Emelia Shea." Emmy almost laughed out loud at how formal she sounded. After a short moment of awkward silence, she decided to ask Lycoris what she was thinking about before being plowed over.
