Of all the things Melody could've been doing on that night, she had to be studying. After receiving an angry owl from her mum, threatening to bring her home if she didn't try harder, Melody saw that it was necessary to apply herself to her studies just a little more than her average. She rarely just studied for the sake of studying. In fact, the only time she really studying was when she knew she was going to be tested. But never had she just studied to get better at the subject.
So, of course, Melody was sitting in the library on a perfectly fine Friday evening, hunched over her History of Magic textbook. Attempting to memorize dates was pointless. Melody found herself reading the same sentence over and over again. Sighing loudly, Melody looked around the library for probably the hundredth time since she had gotten there only fourty-five minutes earlier. She ran a hand through her long hair and took a breath in through her nose. Studying was so overrated. Doing well in school was so overrated. Everything was so overrated. And frankly, Melody was sick of it all. All of it.
She hated History of Magic. Why that was the subject she chose to study first, she didn't know. Probably because it was the easiest to pretend to study; just sit there and stare at the book. No stirring of potions or doing weird spells or trying to find wacky little lines on her palm.
"Ughhhh," Melody moaned as she heard a group of younger students giggling in the corner. She shot them a look and they hushed down immediately. That was what made Melody so happy with who she was; people were terrified of her. But that was only because of her attitude. Sure, she could yell and scream, but she was way too scared to pull out her wand and jinx someone for some stupid reason. Mel had never been violent. Ever.
Obviously thinking no one was watching and that she was safe to act on her feelings, Melody slammed her forhead down on her textbook and groaned even louder. "Ughhh, great Merlin!" [/ul][/blockquote]

@.Seventh year had is ups. One of which was having to study less since most of the classes were just reviews. But then again It did have the biggest tests of the years in the end. Dani walked toward the library and as she entered the door, she stuck out her tongue at all the mocking books.
She placed a medium sized textbook in front of her. Her Transfiguration class was her favorite so it would make sense to look over the book first. Dani sat quietly and smiled as she began to cast her eyes over the words. She was interrupted by a group of laughs from lower classmates. Most likely third years, but when the girl finally looked over at them she noted their silence after a glance from another upperclassmen student. The other student looked at be hard at work, so Dani didn't want to say thanks and add in another distraction for the girl.
Facing her book again, Dan turned the page and scanned the page. It wasn't long when another noise was made. Again, she looked up but this time she notice that the student that had death glared the other students was face down on her textbook. Curious, Dani closed her book and stood. She gave herself a second to straighten her cuffs over her sweat shirt sleeves then walked, with her textbook in hand, over to the girl. Dani, before she sat down, caused a squeak on the floor with her muggle brand shoes. She placed her book on the table and smiled at the girl.
She tilted her head to read some of the text in the book that the girls head wasn't covering. By the boring information Dani laughed some. "I hated that class." She smiled again and laughed some more. "I'm Dani, a Ravenclaw seventh year." She didn't hold out her hand, mostly because she wasn't sure if the other girl even wanted to talk to anyone at the moment. But it was worth a try to start a conversation.

At the sound of a squeak, Melody was very close to telling the younger students to shut up. She clenched her teeth for a moment and her hand pulled into a fist. But when she looked up, she saw that it definitely was not a younger student. In fact, Melody was pretty sure this student was older. The older girl put her textbook down on the table and smiled at her. Melody smiled politely at her, a little taken back at this girl's assertiveness. But it was definitely a nice change.
Her name was Dani, and she was a seventh year Ravenclaw. Melody recognized her now. She nodded at Dani and smiled at her History of Magic textbook. "Uh, yeah. Who doesn't?" Melody chuckled and tapped her fingernails on the table. "I'm Melody. Sixth year Slytherin."
Melody bit her lip and squinted at Dani for a second. Was this girl trying to be her friend or just trying to talk to her for the sake of talking to someone? Maybe she was going to thank Melody for getting those kids to hush up. Wiping the thought aside, Melody smiled apologetically at her. "You can sit. I mean, if you want to."
She smiled again and looked down at her book. Figuring she could use a short distraction from her studies, Melody flipped to the next page in her book and looked up again. An older student was talking to her. This was definitely cool. [/ul][/blockquote]

@.It wasn't one of the smoothest of greetings Dani had done, but it turned out okay. She thought at least. The seventh year had a small laugh at her comment and smiled stilled.
Her head perked up at the information she gave out. Melody, okay, she sucked at names but it was kinda easy to remember.... And a sixth year green and silver. "Slytherin must be a fun group." She had a few friends in there and, past all the sneer and snickers, they had been interesting to have around. Unlike other students, Dani didn't dislike the Slytherins, they were just more mischievous then the other houses, nothing much different.
Her glaze flicked to the books again then she relaxed and leaned back in her char, almost slouching. "You here study too?" Dani nodded toward Melody's still open book then looked back at her. The girl grinned and opened her own book to a random page. "I have Advanced Transfiguration to brush up on." She cleared her throat some. "I kinda fell asleep during the class yesterday." A sheepish smirk appeared and Dani hid her face some from embarrassment. She was a good student, just not top notch like some. More like average.
Dani paused and flipped to the right page and started to scan it, giving the sixth year time to answer. She could multitask. There was nothing too it. But her focus was weighted heavier on the conversation side.
