[img src=" |Dani K. Monroe|words; 515 notes; i hope you like their background story... tagged; mr. caius pent wearing;this---------- Thank God for the weekends, the only chance to get away from all the humdrum school work. Now don’t get her wrong, Dani loved school, which was half the reason why she became a Ravenclaw, but she wasn’t the type to be cooped up in a library all day with a book in her face. No, she prided herself in being the different, the spontaneous, the rebel girl. She could recall moments in detail that she used on of those traits. But still loving school and its classes was in her top ten things that she liked.
Never-the-less, the seventh year had got roped into taking a shopping trip with her close friend, who happened to be a Gryffindor. She was surprised she actually let herself get talked into it, she was stubborn at times and rarely did what others told her to. But that mainly applied to people who she down right hated. Caius wasn’t one of those people. Lucky for him. And lucky for her, though the way they had met in their first year was rather, what’s that word, humiliating. It was the very first day and she had just finished arranging her ‘room’ and decided to go for a stroll around to the vast castle to get her bearings. Ya, well, apparently it was too big and Dani ended up lost. She had lead herself to the Gryffindor corridor and, when walking beside a rather large painting of a fat lady, she ended up running straight into another first year, Caius. The awkward part was that she accidentally ended up kissing him, on the lips. Most would run away and never want to be seen by the other person again, but it had the opposite affect here. Now, the Ravenclaw merely laughed at the thought of how their whole friendship started.
The only thing she didn’t like was this wait. Dani had gotten up early, prepared for the day; shower, find a muggle outfit (because she didn’t want to be confined to the schools attire all that time), and just relax. After she had calmed herself and relaxed, the seventh year glanced at the time and went to the destined meeting spot, the benches at the center of the court. That very same bench had been a scene to a very odd set of actions on her part to a very willing sixth year, Quinn Grey. Almost sent shudders through her thinking about al the ploys she had made just to get information. Nothing bad had happened, but wrong all the same, if brought up could prove to be a funny and interesting story. Anyways, Dani was sitting on a bench with her palms on her thighs tapping out an unknown rhythm. She was strangely to eager to spend time with him, possibly because she hadn’t seen him in awhile. Sighing, the Ravenclaw gave up on her tapping. Why did he have to be late? Actually, if she bothered to check a clock, she was early. “Caius hurry up…...” It was only a mumble, and a rather groaned one at that.

Pent. Caius Pent. He was late. No, not really. But of course, Dani was always early. His friend Dani. The rebel. He shook his head and chuckled as he struggled to pull a navy blue T-shirt over his head. Dani was a sweet heart. At least she was to him. He never eally did put much thought into why exactly she was like that. He shrugged it off and turned to the small mirrior that hung next to his four-poster bed. He was strating to get nervous. He felt Dani was the kind of person that would send him an owl from Hogsmeade if he was ten minutes late. Too bad he hadn't got that weird "make-your-patronus-talk" thing down yet. He could have just calmed her down. Making a mental note to ask one of the (non-death eater) professors about it, he grabbed his weathered leather jacket and slipped it onto his torso.
He had just walked out of his dormitory when he realized he'd fogotten his wallet. Not that there was much in it anyway. Maybe there were still a few sickles in there, and a hand-full of knuts of course. He dug in his trunk briefly and pulled it out. He was surprised to see two shining galeons in it. That little house elf he'd met the other day must have really liked him . . . He stood in silence for a moment, then snapped back to reality and half jogged out his door, down the spiral stair case and out the common room enterance. He regretted deciding to wait a while longer before taking his Appiration test thing. Dani was probably hyperventilating by now. Poor thing. He chuckled.
It seemed to take him forever to just get out the castle. The fresh morning breeze whipped at his rustet colored skin, seemingly trying to push him back into the castle. he put him head down and huffed against the wind. Nothing was going to stop him from getting to Dani, late or not. He briefly contemplated summoning his broom. No, he wasn't that good at the summoning charm. Usually stuff just ended up hitting him in the face. He shoved his hands into his pockets and trudged along the road to Hogsmeade. Almost there, he thought.
He missed his friend. The last couple of weeks had been so filled with homework that they haden't had a chance to see each other. Being in different houses was inconvenient. The road opened to a few buildings. Hogsmeade, finally. he couldn't help it, he ran along the road to the center of town. There she was, her bright orange hair swaying in the wind. He ran his hand through his own inky black hair quickly. He slowed to an impatient walk and shoved his hands into his pockets again before he could make a fool of himself by waving them both above his head to get her attention. It was funny how often they were mistaken for a couple.
He sat down on the bench next to her casually. It seemed she hadn't noticed him. He smile his crooked half smile and fake-yawned, pretending to stretch his arms then resting one of them playfully around Dani's soulders. "Hey, did you miss me?"

[img src=" |Dani K. Monroe|words; 571 notes; me too......lol Dani has to kill his advances.... tagged; mr. caius pent wearing;this---------- Still she had to wait. Not like she couldn’t find way s to entertain herself. Dani had started to hum and again tap out a beat. She wasn’t certain upon what song it was, just that it held an interesting rhythm that could be laid out. But that soon got boring, and the song had come to an end. So, the Ravenclaw went through what she might buy today, in her head, Granted since her family was suffering with money at the moment, she only had a small handful of sickles and knuts to use. A mischevious smirk crossed her features when she hatched an idea. She could possibly get Caius to lend her some money, she was good at getting what she wanted, even though it usually went to some, minor extreme measures. But the girl shook her head. No, she couldn’t, and hoped she never would, do that to a friend. Besides, Caius would let her barrow some money just by asking.
After that was settled in her mind, the seventh year let her head spin back to the first day they met. She got lost in her thoughts, mostly the ones on the kiss that began their friendship. Reaching her hand up, Dani lightly brushed her fingers to her lips, holding a strange sweet smile as she did so. Next thing she knew happening was someone resting their arms on her shoulders. She nearly jumped out of her own skin from the sudden touch. “What the he-“ When she cast her hazel gaze to the side the Ravenclaw noted that it was Caius. With that her eyes grew some playful annoyed anger in them. “You freaked me out there Cai!! Next time don’t do that. And of course I missed you. Why would you thing otherwise??” Her gaze had dialed down to a soft look, and a smile was now on her expression. Only then did she piece it together that her friend was the one with his arm around her. Narrowly blushing, but letting some of her non-even bangs fall over her face to hid it, Dani took her opposite hand to his and grabbed his finger gently. She lifted them up and looped them off her and placed his hand back at his side, but she left her palm to linger on his without her noticing. “Sometimes I think you are still wanting a second kiss after that one in our first year.” A soft and silky chuckle was brought out of her lips as she shook her head.
With a pause in her laughing, she looked up into his eyes. “So, what shop are we headed to first?” She wanted to know, she had a list of things she was planning on buying, or having him buy for her. But another thing, Dani just hoped but good luck that their day wasn’t going to get cut short by any means. Removing her hand from up to his, the seventh year placed both of then gingerly in her leather jacket’s pockets. She blinked at him waiting for his answer. But as she waited, again, Dani recalled all the times they had been claimed as a couple. She would usually laugh at the people, or person, who said that they were. The Ravenclaw knew too well that it was bound to happen at least a few times today, since they were to be walking around together and all.

Pent. Caius Pent. Dani must have been in some distant, faraway, imaginary land before Caius showed up because for a second she didn't notice somebody was sitting there with their arm around her shoulders. He had just arranged his eyebrows into a quizical expression before his friend shrieked and almost jumped up. It gave him a pretty big scare too. He took in a sharp inhale of breath and his eyes grew wide but he didn't move. "Aw Dani. I was sitting there-". He broke off, out of breath. He turned towards her, his large hand running through his short, bristly hair. He saw the look on her face and instantly felt at ease. He hadn't seen her in forever and this was a very familiar look. He saw it on her pretty face whenever she was pretending to be mad at him. He got it a lot, naturally.
He listened intently to the sound of her voice filling the open air. If he had a knut for every time she told him not to sneak up on her, he would be rich, and drowned in a bronze sea of coins . . . He sighed. "Well Dani, hello to you too, and I'm great, thanks." He grinned at her sheepishly. "How'm I supposed to know what you get up to when the school decides to torture us with extra homework. You could have decided I was a bad influence on you or somethin' . . . Just makin' sure." He realized he still had his muscular arm around her, but before he could remove it himself, she looped it off of her. He noticed she sub-consiously let her palm rest in his. Not really helping the "get-mistaken-for-a-couple" thing, but he didn't protest.
He wamted to speak again, to distract her froming actually getting mad, but she beat him to it. He had nothing to say to that. His boyish laugh twined with her soft chuckle, the sound could have been music. It was good to see her again. he was quite a bit taller than his little friend, he was used to the fact that he had to bend his head to see into her eyes. He found her already looking at him. He had finished laughing a little while after her afterall. "So-". She beat him to it again. He made a face and looked up so she wouldn't see it. Sometimes it seemed like the girl could read his mind. Hmph . . . Maybe he should begin studying occlumency, just in case. "Er, your not going to love this but I need a new quill. I ,uh, accidentally broke my last one." I couldn't remember discussing his serious anger management issues. He shuddered, that was a side of him he hoped she would never have to see.
He stood up abruptly. He didn't exactly want to go into finer detail about how exactly he had broken his last quill. "C'mon, let's go get the boring part over. Then we can go wherever you want." Knowing Dani, she probably had a list of stuff she wanted to do as long as his arm. He was pretty much up for anything. Some people might call him annoying for being too happy-go-lucky. How was he supposed to help it? At least he could tone it down when he needed to. He grabbed her hand roughly and pulled her up. It was a short walk to the Quill Shop. He raised his eyebrows in a silent: "Are-you-coming-or-not?". He turned, twisting his neck to keep his eyes on her and began slowly walking the opposite direction.

[img src=" |Dani K. Monroe|words; 616 (don't test me I can go up to 900 and possibly more) notes; I would no, wait till they are somewhere else....mostly becuz I doubt you could pick anyone up at a quill shop....lol tagged; mr. caius pent wearing;this---------- When she realized that she gave him as much of a shock that he had given her, she immediately was sorry. But she didn’t say anything, mostly because she knew the Caius would know she was sorry. Dani wasn’t big on freaking other people out. And it even surprised her that she was able to scare him. Usually he, to outside people who didn’t know him, came off as the tough guy who would be the one scaring then getting scared. Well, you can’t judge a book by its cover can, ya? Dani had known him all seven years so she knew better.
But when he sarcastically responded to a greeting she didn’t give the Ravenclaw rolled her eyes. And added a playful, nonchalant, “Whatever.” At his next set of words, mostly the last part of them, she could help but laugh. How Caius could even consider himself a bad influence was beyond her. He was a sweet and lovable as a puppy, almost had the big brown eyes to match. “Bad influence? You? That would be the day…” Dani, was still laughing at the thought and for fun, she scooted all the way back against the bench and lifter her legs some so that they could swing under it as if she was a little girl all over again. But that was just out of friendly mockery.
His laugh was great to hear again. After having to go so long without it could drive a person crazy. Not truly but it was one of those things that could be missed after it stopped. And the seventh year did miss it right after he stopped laughing. It wasn’t a great desire to hear it again, just a common want. After she spoke she tuned into him and at his words her topaz eyes widened slightly. She moved her hands to place then on her hips as best she could with the way she was sitting and all. In a fake motherly scolding voice Dani shook her head at him, sending her bangs to cascade over her face more. “Caius Harven Pent, I can’t believe that you called me all the way out here just to accompany you to get a new quill.” She paused and threw her hands up dramatically and added, “The nerve of some people.” Resting her hands back to her lap, Dani closed her eyes giggled at the scene she just caused and wondered how many towns’ people or other students’ attention she attracted.
“Okay, sounds cool to me.” Shrugging after her words, the Ravenclaw was going to push herself off the bench after Caius but when he caught her hand and pulled her up she froze once she was on both feet. Well, that hesitation earned her a look for her friend and finding a quick cover for it she rolled her eyes and began to stroll after him. She knew he was going to ask why she paused, so she indulged him before he could get a chance to ask. “I was just wonder why I’m still friends with you.” Placing a seemingly innocent and mirthful grin on her face, Dani shoved both hands in her pockets and walked in stride next to him. They were rather close together; shoulder’s nearly brushed each other as they walked. But Dani, being oblivious to such small things made no note of it and kept her hands in her pockets and her eyes on what other people were doing while in the town. It’s called people watching and it’s fun and not creepy, well, to her at least. There wasn’t much going on so she just walked in silent till they reached the shop.

Pent. Caius Pent. He was chuckeling to himself, too low for Dani to hear. The girl was something else. Definitely the strangest Ravenclaw he had ever met. Yet he liked her that way. He liked her, his weird rebelious friend. He starred at her happily as she hesitated. Caius tended to notice little things like that. It annoyed him sometimes. He wished he could just let everything run its course without trying to decipher every little movement. But obviously Dani recollected herself. She knew him too well to give him one second to ask about it. Her words comforted him further, shepherded him into knowing the fact that nothing was different. Nothing had changed. They were still Caius and Dani, her teasing words lightened his mood even further.
"Why you're still friends with me? Really? Well that is just offending. You know you couldn't go more than a few weeks without me." He smiled then. But it wasn't his usual mocking, half-grin. It was big and sincere, spreading across his broad cheek bones. He looked over at her, letting the brilliant glow of his happiness fade. Her returned smile was innocent, like she was really wondering if she should still be his friend. The girl was too good of an actor. His confidence faded but only for a second. She began walking, finally. Surely with Dani around, even buying some new stationery would be interesting. He took long strides, slowing them to keep in pace with his friend. She was quite a bit smaller than him. He liked that about her too. It felt like if he ever needed to protect her, it wouldn't be hard.
It wasn't long before his large hand had grasped the metal door handle of the local stationery shop and pushed it open. "I'll just be a second. I can't really afford anything too fancy right now." He glanced at her, standing in the door way. He felt bad for starting off their trip with his little needs. Still, facing school again on Monday was going to be hard if he didn't have a quill. He was true to his word, walking straight up to the front counter and asking for the five knut kind along with two bottles of new ink. The shop keeper placed his three new quills and ink bottles into a paper bg and handed it to him. He thanked he and strided back to Dani, who didn't seem to be having too much fun.
He shrugged and let an apologetic smile flash across his face before arranging his features into the same happy face that he'd worn before. "Like I said, wherever you want. Just name it." He justed hoped she wasn't going to drag him into some robe emporium. No, she was definitely not that mean. He wasn't really sure where Dani shopped. In the past they had had more time to hang out at school. When they weren't both worrying about homework and N.E.W.Ts and all the other crap that life was waiting to throw at them. "So where do you want to go. I'll buy you something, some house elf really likes me." He hoped his offer would make her happy, not offend her. He pushed open the door again, walking into the street, cold air tearing at his skin.

[img src=" |Dani K. Monroe|words; 561 notes; Three Broomsticks works. And if Alex isn't around maybe we could find someone else for Caius to flirt with. Lycoris might be an idea (is one of Cheesy's characters) but idk tagged; mr. caius pent wearing;this---------- A smirk filled her features at Caius’ words. True, what she had said was slightly offending but it wasn’t like she meant it. His statement was also true. Dani probably couldn’t have gone a few weeks without him. Not like it wasn’t shocking, they were best friends and all. She shrugged in agreement but also responded with a teasing manner back at him. “And you couldn’t last a few days without me.” Now, whether that was true or not, Dani didn’t know. She turned her expression to a soft smile and started to chuckle at her small joke.
When he had pushed the door open, the Ravenclaw quickly made a move to step inside to get out of the cooler winds. To her friend’s words she just nodded but added a small mumble to herself, hoping Caius didn’t hear, “And I can’t afford anything at all.” Truthfully, Dani never told any of her friends about her families financial issues, but somehow, the story got around at school. Whoever started it was on the top of Dani’s hate list. She hung around the door as Caius walked further inside to make his purchase. To keep herself out of boredom, the girl leaned on the door’s window frame and breathed against the glass to make it frost up some. In the frosted spot Dani drew a quite detailed snitch, with some of the fancy designed on it, using her finger tip and nail.
Hearing the footsteps behind her, Dani spun slowly on her heels and looked up at Caius, who bore a soft smile in apology. The seventh year grinned back and watched him form his happy face again. “I did have a few places in mind…” She trailed off and gathered her list of shops that she wanted to visit, in her head. Most of them were places that the two of them could just hang out together, places to catch up after not seeing each other for awhile because of school. When Caius spoke again, a slightly mischievous smile came over Dani’s features. She held off on answering till they were both back outside in the autumn breezes, which was one reason why she was thankful for wearing a jacket. “Then how about paying for a round of butterbeers at the Three Broomsticks?”
She didn’t really wait for his answer, the Ravenclaw had already began to lead the way to the previously name shop. Granted it wasn’t much of a shop, more like a bar, but without all that alcoholic drinks, so it was a bar of kids. Dani strolled down the sidewalk in rhythm with what she hummed, this time she knew the tune; Strut by Adam Lambert. It was some muggle singer, and the funny thing was that the song fit. She was in front of Caius and actually forgot she was, so she probably looked like a huge idiot to him. But within minutes Dani was next to the doors. She ended her humming and looked over at her friend, her hazel gaze was drawn to way he carried himself, all confident and calm, and she found herself admiring him. Mentally shaking her head to clear it, the girl gripped the door handle, opened it and nodded from Caius to inside still holding the door. “Ladies first.” Dani smirked and waited for her Gryffindor friend to enter first.

Pent. Caius Pent. Caius peeked into the plastic bag that the shop keeper had given him. Yeah, all his quills were still there, and niether of the two ink bottles had cracked . . . Yet. Somehow they never seemed to last much more than a few weeks. What is up with quills? Why can't we just use pens like muggles do? He shook his head a little. Magic was great. Sure. But why did the magical community have to use such difficult writing equipment. He was abruptly dragged back into reality by a ferocious gust of wind that sent his, already scruffy hair, flying all over the place. He wore an annoyed look as he tried to smooth it out with his fingers. He wasn't too worried about Dani's choosing their next stop. She wasn't that mean. Not to him at least.
But he fully expected her to take advantage of the fact that he had offered to buy her something. He was about to ask what she was thinking. But she answered his question for him. Yes. She can read my mind, he thought with a grin. "Well . . . okay I guess that won't do too much damage to my wallet." He pretended to look worried, but shrugged it off. Butter beers weren't too expensive these days were they? He wouldn't know. He never went out without someone to keep him company. He looked over at where Dani had been standing, but she was gone. He frowned and looked around him.
There she was. Already striding towards the Three Broomsticks. Ah Dani. The over confident one. He followed behind her obediently. He resembled a puppy on a leash walking behind her. Deciding he didn't want to look like a desperate little pet, he lengthened his stride and caught up with her in two big steps. "Boo." He only murmured it. If he had said it out loud Dani would have freaked out. It was just to let her know he was beside her. So that she didn't jump when she realized it. Yeah, Caius, the nice guy.
The were in front of the um, bar soon. He looked over at her, intending to let her go first. But of course Dani was her irritating self and told him to go. "Why thank you", he said in a feminine, high pitched tone. But he didn't prance in like a drag queen. No, he was not prepared to go that far. He looked around to make sure she had come in behind him. "I'll go get some drinks, find a table okay?" He turned away from her and started towards the bar. "Two butter beers, please." He dug out the correct amount of money from his wallet and laid it down on the counter. He twisted his head around, looking down either side of the bar.

[img src=" |Dani K. Monroe|words; 605 notes; well that last paragraph I just took off...sorry about that just had to make something happen...lol tagged; mr. caius pent wearing;this---------- This whole day Dani was having fun so far and was glad that she accepted Caius’ offer to join him. But they had only been to one store, she didn’t do much there, and on her list they had a lot more to go. So, actually, it wasn’t fair to call the day fun yet. The Ravenclaw decided that since it was just the two of them together, it was pound to be an amazing day. She noted her friend’s worried face as he glanced at his wallet. Rolling her eyes, the girl giggled. Did he think they were that pricey? Truly Caius needed to get out more, maybe take a girl someplace, and have fun; whatever it would take to have him see the sights. For crying out loud they were in their seventh year, how would someone not know ho much a butterbeer cost?
While she was walking, she sensed Caius come up next to her. Dani was glad he announced his appearance with a soft and quiet word. If she hadn’t have noticed him and if he hadn’t said anything she probably would have freaked out again. She flashed a sweet and thankful smile his way. Well, for all she knew it could have been a robber or a creepy stalker person. Or it could have been another kid from the school trying their luck at a date or some alone time with her. Hey, it happens. She had other students do that before, of course she either turned them down or yelled at they for attempting such a thing.
When he told her to find a table Dani nodded, “Okay, sure.” She began to walk but then spun on her heels. “Oh, Caius? Thanks.” She wasn’t sure why she told him thanks now rather then later. The Ravenclaw just wanted to thank him for buying the drinks, even if he had already offered to get her something. With her families current money problems she was glad for anything that saved money for them. In fact she probably wasn’t going to but much, if any, today.Moving to a table near a window, she pulled out one of the three chairs and sat down. Gazing out the window, Dani sighed and rested her elbow on the edge of the table then placed her chin in her palm.
Suddenly she felt a tap on her should and when she tilted her head in that direction, expecting on seeing Caius. Instead it was a slightly younger student, sixth year, blonde with green eyes. Dani just grinned, some what confused, and the boy introduced himself. As he continued to chat her up, the Ravenclaw’s eye’s slid to Caius. Once her hazel sight met him she cut the younger boy off, without taking her eyes off her friend. “Actually, I’m here with him. So, ya…” The sixth year got the message, though it was taken as if they were a couple, he even stated he was sorry he didn’t know she was taken. Dani flicked her gaze to the blonde and was about to object to that comment but he walked away be fore any words came. The girl scoffed, annoyed, and returned her eyes out the window. How any one could find her and Caius being boyfriend and girlfriend was beyond her. They were just best friends who hung out together on a regular basis, loved each others company, made each other laugh, and had moments together where they completely relied on the other, and…Damn we are like a couple. Dani’s eyes widened slightly at the realization. Did Caius see this or was it just her?

Oh Hogsmead how your weekends come at good times. It was nice to escape the confines of the castle every once in awhile, and even nicer to get some candy and such. Lycoris was very thankful about one thing when it came to her family, they did not want people to know how much they detested their youngest child. On the outside they made sure that people thought that Lycoris was as loved as their other two children, thus, she was able to buy esentially whatever she wanted, within reason of course. If a new broom came out, and Lycoris wanted it, then to keep up appearances her parents would buy it for her. They, after all, were pretty well off on the financial side of things. Until Lycoris was able to make the escape of her family after her last year of Hogwarts, finances were to be no trouble for her, and she was going to enjoy every minute of it. The other good thing though, was the clothes. Lycoris was a bit of a girl when it came to clothes, and she had expensive taste. That day Lycoris had put on a long sleeved dress and put on a pair of navy leggings underneath. On her feet she placed a pair of flats. she put on a long black sweater overtop for warmth. Anyways, Lycoris had made her first stop at Honeydukes to stock up on the various sweets that she enjoyed, chocolate frogs, Bertie Botts Beans, you know, the basic student necesities. She held the bag that contained her sweets in one hand, and looked around the town to see where she wanted to go next. For some reason, Lycoris had opted on the day alone rather than spending it with her friends. She was realising now just how dumb that idea had been. What was there to do in Hogsmead when alone anyways? Then the idea hit her. The Three Broomsticks, a student friendly 'pub' if it could even be called that. Most of her classmates spent the better part of the day in there spping butterbeer. A smile played across her lips, figuring that she would at least be able to run into someone she knew in the pub. With that thought in mind, she changed her direction to be directly at the door, and made her way over there. Upon reaching the door Lycoris opened it, and stepped in, enjoying the warmth that was brought to her face after only a few seconds. The weather was definitely changing to be on the cold side of things now, as the time of year predicted it would. Scanning around the pub for a few moments to see if there was anyone she knew her eyes landed upon one Dani Monroe. Dani was one year Lyc's elder, and was the captain of the Ravenclaw Quidditch team. Her eyes had scanned a few other familiar faces, mostly from Cori's year, but Dani appeared to be alone. Keeping that fact in mind Cori made the best beeline possible through the crowded pub to get to where Dani sat. As she walked she saw Dani shoot down some boy that was in her year, and a small smirk crossed her face. dani was not one to be messed with. Once Lycoris had cleared across the pub to where Dani sat her eyes scanned around quickly. She had no idea why she did this, it was not a crime to sit down with someone you knew. "Whats up cap'in" Cori said to the girl who's table was now directly infront of her. "Mind if I sit with ya?" her voice was more of a comment than a question, not really giving Dani time to answer before lifting the Honeydukes pacel that was in her hand and placing it on the table. Once the package was saftly on the tabl Lycoris shed her jacket off and placed in over the chair that she had chosen to snatch before taking a seat in it. Cori had no idea that Dani was actually there with anyone, though she probably should have guessed since one did not normally choose to sit alone when there were tons of other students around to be with. ((muahahahaha! hope you two like it ^^))

Pent. Caius Pent. He was starring into his wallet, now, acctually worrying about how he was possibly going to afford paying for everything Dani desired. She was like his spoiled child, he could not refuse her of anything. Otherwise he just began to feel lousy. That was why Dani probably had a drwer comited to holding the stuff that Caius bought her. He decided he was just going to have a private word with that elf. Niggy he thought was her name. He sighed at his own disability to say no. He looked up, his eyes darted towards the two butter beers that had been set down upon the table, waiting for him to take them over to Dani where she sat. He notticed someone standing behind the counter. The bar maid? But she'd been standing there a minute ago when she gave him the drinks. Was she . . . reluctant? He looked up, his eyes lingered on her face. He thought that if her face was as perfect as her hair she could have been a model.
He grabbed the butter beers and stood up abruptly. He had to hold the mugs away from himself to stop them sloshing onto his clothes. Something about the situation felt wrong. Like he couldn't bring himself to . . . socialise with other girls while he was out with his best friend. He made a face at himself. Why would he think that. They were just friends, right? Or was he really stupid enough not to realize that he wanted to be more than friends with Dani. It was moments like these when he was extremely glad his mind was a private place. No. He and Dani were always going to be friends, he wouldn't let his stupid fantasies ruin that. Whe he finally woke to reality and turned his head towards Dani, he noticed she was talking to some six year, by the looks of him.
He was just about to tell himself "I told you so!" when he realized she was looking towards him, a few seconds later, the boy walked away. Huh. This was getting just a tad bit strange. He began striding over to the table where Dani sat, his vision was wandering. When he looked back he notticed a nice-looking sixth-year that he had seen around but never really talked to before. Uuuh . . . Lycoris. Yeah that was her name. She was on the Ravenclaw Quidditch team. That just reminded him that he was supposed to be recruiting Gyffindores for his team. Argh. When he finally reached the table, he grinned first at dani and then Lycoris. He scooched into the seat beside Dani. "Hey, it appears we have company." He nodded at Lycoris. "I'm Caius, Dani's . . . friend. You must be Lycoris, from the Ravenclaw Quidditch team. It's very nice to meet you." He smiled and cocked an eyebrow at her.

[img src=" |Dani K. Monroe|words; 508 notes; fun fun fun.....XP tagged; mr. caius pent wearing;this---------- Dani was still kind of out of it and when Lycoris came over and broke those thoughts, the girl nearly jumped again. Offering a smile, she looked up at her teammate. “Hey Cori.” But when the chaser asked to sit, Dani wasn’t sure if she should object or not. On one hand she just wanted it to be her and Caius, and on the other the seventh year didn’t want to be mean and push another friend away. She opened her mouth as if to say something but shut it right when the sixth year decided to take it upon herself and sat down anyways. Dani now questioned why she took a table with three chairs around. Sighing, the seventh year grinned at her. “Ready for this new season?”
When Caius came over a sat down next to her, Dani rolled her eyes with a smirk. He was a nice guy and apparently didn’t mind that Lycoris had sat down to join them. In fact, to the seventh year Ravenclaw, it seemed that he was enjoying her company too much for her taste. But Dani didn’t show that she didn’t like it, she put up a happy face, even if she questioned why it was so disturbing to her. So in reply to Caius’s first words, she just nodded and smiled. She softly and slightly winced at his statement about being her friend. To cover it up Dani laughed and added in to his words, “Not just friends,” she flicked her gaze to Caius and shoved him on the shoulder playfully then looked back at Lycoris and continued, “more like best friends.” Dani smirked and reached for a butterbeer. She probably wasn’t the only one to tell, but this was going to be an interesting conversation.
Pulling the drink over to her, Dani lifted it to her lips and took a small sip. She hadn’t had one in awhile, since her low income and what not, so Dani was just checking its flavor to see if it was still as good and it was. Smiling the seventh year girl took a bigger sip and put the glass back on the table. Looking up to Lycoris, Dani was going to be nice and start off the conversation. Clearing her throat, she spoke, “So, Cori, how’s your weekend so far?” Chuckling mildly, she returned the glass to her lips and suddenly became aware of how close her and Caius where sitting, basically inches apart. Nonchalantly, Dani leaned away from her best friend. This all wasn’t helping her theory that she had came up with, or more like just discovered. Taking a light, deep breath she cleared her thoughts, kind of. Okay, no, you are not thinking about this. This whole you maybe possibly secretively like him, makes you sound crazy! He is your best friend and that is probably all he wants to be!! Resting the butterbeer back on the table she pushed it away a bit and looked out the window and let an inaudible sigh escape her lips.

In all honesty, Cori would not have minded too much if Dani had shooed her away, not that she really wanted to. Lyc had gotten bored of being alone, and she would willingly share her candy in return, if needed at least. Candy was almost like a drug, you only shared it if you wanted some thing in return. But she smiled across the table at Dani, glad that there were no obvious objections to her joining the table. When Dani asked if she was ready for the new season Cori nodded "Ya, you could say that. Already had a detention over it too actually...." She smiled sheepishly, wondering if Dani knew the exact extent of the disagreement between Cori and Quinn. Cori kept herself from frowning about it though, the detention was totally worth the damage, to both herself and Quinn.
It wasn't long before someone else, a boy, sat down at the table. Cori subtley eyed him up and down, admiring for the first time the Gryffindor Seeker. Her smile grew a little bit as he introduced himself as Dani's friend. Of course, Dani corrected that statement as quickly as possible to be best friends. It was a little hard to not control the smile that wanted to grow on her face, realizing that this meant Caius had an extremely understanding girlfriend, or he was still on the market. Now, Lyc was not exactly looking, but she had always been a tad of a flirt, something that could not be helped. She grinned over at the boy and nodded as he got her name right "In the flesh," She said in response "pleased ta meet you too Caius." Cori contemplated the possibilities with the Gryffindor seeker, not too far though, she wasn't like that at all.
Her attention was drawn back to Dani though, as another question was posed in Lycoris' direction. "My weekend? Oh you know the usual. Finished the homework early so I have the rest of the time to do whatever, stocked up on the candy stash from Honeydukes. Thinking about heading up to the Shack a little later, maybe scare some firsties like the older students did when I was that young." A small smirk formed on her face, picturing some poor first years at the shack, telling each other how it was haunted and such, and then using some simple hovering charm to throw stuff at them. Classic. "What about you too? Lots of fun stuff planned for the day?"
((sorry if its a little blah like, I'm picturing scenes from Eclipse right now.....you know, Taylor getting punched and such -grin- makes it a little hard to be all mushy like ><))

Pent. Caius Pent. Hehad tilted his head to the side, getting a look at Lycoris from a different angle. Still pretty, he thought. He sub-consciously evaluated each and every girl he didn't know . . . if he had enough time to look at them properly. Lycoris was a sixth year as far as he could remember, therefor one year younger than him. He remembered dating a fifth-year Hufflepuff towards the end of his sixth-year. Age is just a number, he reminded himself. Then it was time to pull himself out of his thoughts and talk so that he looked like a sane human being. He didn't think much farther than the age difference, but he still felt a lingering sort of interest towards her.
He grinned and winked at Dani as she corrected him. "Course Dan. Ever since that first day . . ." Luckily he stopped himself before he mentioned the whole accidentally-kissed-on-the-lips thing. That was going to be their secret. Forever hopefully. He reached for his drink and took a sip, discreetly wiping his upper lip with his hand while lowering the butter beer. No need to humiliate himself with a foamy lip. He was groping around for a conversation topic when the mind reader beat him to it . . . again. Now he was beginning to get genuinely worried. Maybe she really is a mind reader , he discarded that theory. They had always finished each other's sentences in a sense. It was normal for friends, right?
Hmm. Weekend. Why couldn't he have thought of something so effective, yet simple. "My weekend? Oh you know the usual. Finished the homework early so I have the rest of the time to do whatever, stocked up on the candy stash from Honeydukes. Thinking about heading up to the Shack a little later, maybe scare some firsties like the older students did when I was that young." She finished her homework early. He blinked at her. Seeing as Dani was one of the few friends he had in Ravenclaw, he sometimes forgot they were supposed to be the incredibly academic ones. He and Dani never really discussed homework.
She added on another few words. He answered quickly before Dear Dani could snatch his chance away again. "Yeah, my wallet's going on a diet." He contemplated for a moment. The normal thing to do would be to invite her along. But what about Dani. Would she be okay with it. "Would you like to join us, Lycoris?" He looked over to Dani with his pleading-puppy-dog-look. She was supposed to be smart. She wouldn't mind if Caius was polite. Or would she . . .? "Would you mind, Dani?" Guilt won him over in the end. After all, it was supposed to be their day.

[img src=" |Dani K. Monroe|words; 512 notes; Dani just lost her spark...lol...you can tell by the way she isn't talking much.... tagged; mr. caius pent and ms. lycoris sunders wearing;this---------- Dani’s eyes flickered over to the sixth year next to her. A detention? Oh, yes, that was right. She had heard about it, being the captain, so she knew the inner workings of her team. In response the older Ravenclaw just shrugged, still kind of on the edge of having her sit here.
Dani was just planning on sitting there and listening, added a few word into a mix of the conversation. She smiled a half fake half real grin over at her team mate. But Caius’ reply to her best friend comment made her glance away and blush slightly. He just had to bring that subject up in front of someone else. Surely Cori was going to pressure them for the story; it was normal curiosity in humans. For a cover, Dani gripped the handle of the butterbeer and pulled it close to her and took a short sip. She wasn’t ashamed of who her and Caius met, just wary about how other people would response to the story. She had told one of her dates about it once and after he just left saying that she didn’t have to lead him on thinking she was single. That story was just bad luck to her. In her thoughts she didn’t hear Lycoris’ words to her best friend.
Dani smiled and leaned back in the chair which she sat in and held the glass cup on her lap. After just the first sentence of the sixth year’s statement, she was lost out the window again. Cori wasn’t even taking any glances at her; the blonde was having too much fun with the eye candy sitting next to her. Hell, did I just think that? The older Ravenclaw stole a glance at Caius, her brightly hued bangs covered her eyes so he wouldn’t catch her looking at him. Well, she couldn’t lie; he was rather tones, and was hard to break your gaze away from. She shook her head and brought the glass to her lips once again.
She was almost pushed out of the conversation but her best friend snatched her back in. Dani was thankful actually, she didn’t want to just sit and watch these two flirt. Jealous, sure you could call her that yet she wouldn’t admit it. Snapping her mind back to Caius’ question, Dani offered a small grin and look at his eyes. She wasn’t looking at his puppy dog face, she got that enough to point that it didn’t affect her, but Dani was just admiring the color and the reflections of light. Quickly, the Ravenclaw captian cut her eyes to Lycoris and blinked with a shrug. “Sure, why not?” Her words almost got caught in her throat but she pushed them out. “It will be fun. Just the three of us.” She turned to look at Caius and stared softly at him and but some emphasis on the ‘three’ part, but still hiding her dislike of the word. Dani forced and smile, a very real looking one at that. Having Cori with them would be fun right? Right?
